[EXCLUSIVE] Song Joong Ki 1st Asia Fanmeet Press Conference in Singapore

Song Joong Ki is definitely not a stranger to Singapore as this is his third time visiting the sunny island. He was in town for his 1st Asia Tour Fan Meet in Singapore and took the opportunity to meet the media as well as his fans at Square 2 on May 26 at an open press conference.

Song Joong Ki invited children from Club Rainbow, together with their family and some fans, to a sumptuous Korean meal, before the press conference, supported by Todai International Seafood & Sushi Buffet Restaurant and aT Center.

He mentioned that the children were cute and he had no particular reason for having this special arrangement but just to spend time with them. He remembered those unforgettable memories with his family during his childhood and he wanted to create an unforgettable experience for these children as well.

Visiting Singapore
Knowing that it is a rare opportunity for him to visit Singapore, he commented that the hugging event would be very special to the lucky fans. Song Joong Ki also took the opportunity to take in the beauty and sights of Singapore while jogging round Marina Bay Sands. During his jog, he came across two fans who recognised him and hopped off their cab. Despite their efforts to chase him, Song Joong Ki said he ran away from them because of the way he looked after jogging!

He also revealed that he is a huge fan of BBQ pork slices, also known as Bakkwa. During his last visit to Singapore, he recalled a fan giving him a large packet of these BBQ pork slices from Bee Cheng Hiang and it was delicious. He even asked if there was an outlet in Square 2 because he wanted to eat them again!

Dramas
He revealed that out of all the dramas he took part in, he had the most fun filming Sungkyunkwan Scandal because his co-stars Park Yoochun and Yoo Ah In were of the same age as him. In addition, this drama also brought him to fame. If given a chance, Song Joong Ki would want to play the character again as he had some regrets and felt that he could perform even better.

However, he would have preferred a love line with a female character instead of having a love line with co-star Yoo Ah In's character again. He added that he would not mind having Sungkyunkwan Scandal 2 with the same cast because it would just spell fun for him!

He commented that he is ready to take on any role, expressing his greed to try on various characters. In fact he mentioned that in his new drama with Moon Chae Won, his character is a chic guy, an opposite from that in Sungkyunkwan Scandal.

Song Joong Ki recently filmed a movie, Wolf Boy with Park Bo Young and he mentioned that this character is a fresh approach from the other roles he has tried before. To those aspiring to join the industry, his advice is to watch more dramas and movies to gain inspiration and techniques which will be beneficial.

Running Man
Even though he has not been on Running Man for more than a year, Song Joong Ki is thankful for all the love and support he has received from Running Man fans. He expressed his desire to return to Running Man as the filming has always been fun and interesting. He misses the entire cast and would return if he had the chance to.

He feels that Kim Jong Kook is the best running man on the show because no one is able to catch him! Song Joong Ki mentions that he would have to keep exercising to keep up to his pace. On thoughts of cast member Kwang Soo, he said that "Kwang Soo is just the tallest man" and he would be able to win Kwang Soo even though he is also one of the weakest member!

Future
Song Joong Ki recently met up with Manchester United’s defender Rio Ferdinand in Thailand and even took a photo with him. In the past, he had no thoughts of bulking up but upon seeing the photo, he thought he needed more exercise! Having been an emcee for Music Bank, Song Joong Ki would like to take on the role of an emcee again because it is interesting and increases his chances of meeting girl groups in Korea!!

Of course, this heartthrob doesn't need to do much to grab the hearts of his fangirls. His 'bbuing bbuing' aegyo got them screaming and asking for more!
