Human rights are fundamental instruments for a peaceful coexistence. It is therefore with great zeal that everyone should observe the protection of civil, human and migrant always. The advocacy entails giving freedom of speech and expression to the affected individuals. Absolute consideration has also been given to ensure that oppressors are brought to book and held accountable for their ill actions.
Across the globe, governing rules have been strictly implemented and firmly reinforced to protect the people exploited. Although the oppressors are fighting back against this move, the majority of states in the world are putting the interests of those under threat first. The states are not relenting on this matter, and they want to see an end to this menace.
Lacey and Larkin’s humanitarian move
Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin, founders of Village Voice Media and Phoenix New Times, through their Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund have made significant financial contributions in support of institutions that advocate for migrant rights throughout Arizona.
The two got removed from their homes at wee hours of the night and got arrested by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio having been accused of exposing details of a bench of judges’ proceedings who used reporters’ articles to defend the sheriff.
They dedicated the $3.75 million settlement money arising from their arrest to funding the organizations in Arizona that advocated for migrant rights. Surprisingly, the grand jury ordered identity of individuals who read New Times. Lacey and Larkin sued the country in their bid to defend First Amendment rights.
Several humanitarian organizations have emerged to help curb the oppression menace that is posing a threat to a peaceful society. Their main aim is to fight for human, civic and migrant rights.
They are doing this through a strategic plan of using rigorous and extensive exercise in a planned and articulated investigation, defending evil actions against human rights and maintaining a peaceful society.
Vital organizations that have come out strongly to fight for human rights include among others the Human Rights Center in South Texas. The group works tirelessly to ensure the protection of all citizens in South Texas. They have established community-related initiatives to cease deaths and afflictions along the Mexican and Texas border.
Another group that activates for human rights and reforms is the Border Network for Human Rights (BNHR). For us to have a peaceful coexistence, we have to protect fundamental human rights and take rigorous measures against the oppressors.
