Margaret (Maggie) Gill from 1994 until 2004 was with Tenet Healthcare in the South Florida Health system as their chief financial officer. During her time with Tenet, she worked at North Shore Medical Center in Miami and Coral Gables, Florida as well as Palmetto General in Hialeah, Florida. She joined Memorial Health in 2004 as the Vice President of finance and managed care. In 2005 she was made chief operating officer and in 2011 she was named the president and chief executive officer of Memorial Health.
Maggie graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature/Letters and earned an MBA (Honors) from the Saint Leo University in St. Leo, Florida. She then completed a strategic thinking and management course at Wharton School.
Outside of her job with Memorial Health her family is most important to her. She has a 10-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter. When time allows, they like to travel together, participate in weekend activities around Savanah. They also enjoy hiking and fishing together.
When the Georgia Medical Society hosted the 16th Annual Health Care Heroes Awards Memorial Health was given seven awards. These awards are given to recognize the people who have dedicated their career to helping to improve the health care and well-being of their communities. As well as being a benefit for people in today’s world it will also have an impact on the next generation to come.
Maggie Gill recently announced Memorial Health’s partnership with EON Health. This partnership will introduce a no-premium Medicare Advantage plan that will have inexpensive prescription co-payments for the people who are on Medicare in South Carolina and Georgia counties in 2017. Benefits like hearing, dental and free transportation are not always available, however, Memorial Health has found a common ground in EON Health’s focus on offering preventive care.
There are changes coming to the Health Care industry and Maggie Gill has unveiled her Pathways to Excellence with she identified approximately $12.6 million in savings that included $7.6 million from Premier Incorporated. Premier is a healthcare improvement company in Charlotte, North Carolina. This initiative will be part of Memorial Health’s $20 million-a-year plan which will look to provide the provider with results in the next six to eighteen months and opportunities for the future that are strategic.
She is an Associate Professor of Medical Education at Mercer University, as well as a board member, a Georgia Chamber of Commerce Board Member, and a board member of Union Mission Social Services.
