The Avaaz organization is currently known as and marketing itself as “the globe’s largest and most powerful online activist network”. Avaaz is taken from the Persian language and means “voice” or “song”. The word “voice in the English language is also connected to the term Avaaz and the organization was established in January 2007.
Avaaz takes action against these various causes that they stand up against by signing petitions, organizing (PEACEFUL) demonstrations, and supporting independent press releases on conflictual topics. Beginning in 2009, Avaaz decided not to take any corporate foundations or corporations but is funded by private corporations and has not accepted a private donation for more than $5000 either. It’s the generosity of each individual member that helps the group raise funds successfully. It’s estimated that there are about 10,000 online, active Avaaz members and so far there have been about $20 million raised to date for various causes. The suggestions come from members as to where this money should go and what causes they should try to “shine a light on” to make a difference.
Demonstrators consistently organize peaceful protests, sit-ins, rallies, phone chains, and media-friendly stunts to get the word out about how they feel on different issues and to raise public awareness of the injustices done throughout our democratic societies today. They also fight against things like sexism, racism, classism, and other bigotry that they feel still helps divide our world today.
For the most part, athletes experience extreme difficulty in playing sports professionally. Although it remains a possibility, it also remains a rarity. Furthermore, athletes do not make it to the NBA often. Moreover, NBA players possess an innate ability and an unmatched work ethic. Also, a basketball coach remains as equally as important as a basketball player. Although basketball players physically execute playing the sport, they lack the ability to develop strategies the way that a coach would. In particular, Yanni Hufnagel understands the importance of being a great coach. As a result, he remains one of college basketball’s most sought-after coaches. For those unaware, Yanni Hufnagel remains a pioneer in the world of basketball.
To begin, Hufnagel possesses Jewish ancestry. Moreover, Yanni grew up in a neighborhood filled with people from all walks of life. During his childhood, Yanni became actively involved in sports. In spite of demonstrating his abilities, he remained unable to play for his high school basketball team. Instead, Yanni Hufnagel became a commentator for the school. After graduating high school, Hufnagel played for Pennsylvania State University. Moreover, Hufnagel played for the school’s lacrosse team. Aside from possessing an unmatched talent, Yanni led the team to several victories. After one year, he transferred to Cornell University.
Then, Yanni Hufnagel worked as an intern with the New Jersey Nets for one year. While there, Hufnagel learned from some of the NBA’s most prominent players. In addition, Yanni also perfected his coaching abilities. With that being said, Yanni attended the University of Oklahoma after he completed the internship. During this time, he worked as an assistant coach and he also earned a master’s degree. Aside from increasing his visibility, he became an inspiration to the basketball team and his colleagues. In closing, Yanni Hufnagel helped coach Blake Griffin.

As a global community, Avaaz uses 17 languages in its campaigns. It has established core teams on six continents. Members of the organization keep it running by making donations. Avaaz has not received any donations from corporations and has not accepted any payment of over $5,000. They only accepted donations from foundations before 2009 as they were only a start-up and had to pay their staff. Currently, their primary source of funding is through contributions from individual members.
The civic organization was founded in 2007 by Ricken Patel. Presently, he is the president and executive director of the group. According to him, the goal of the organization is to unite people with practical ideologies around the globe. So far, they have shown support for freedom and human progress by supporting environmental conservation, challenging GMOs and supporting protesters in democratic countries. They have been involved in setting up internet proxies for political and civic protesters and even sending communication equipment to them.
Also, they participated in the sending of medical equipment to Syrian territories that were held by rebels. These were transported through smuggling routes and were worth $2 million. International journalists were also smuggled into Syria by Avaaz during the civil war.

In an exciting move to provide excellence in patient care, Cancer Treatment Centers of America have partnered with NantHealth and AllScripts to utilize Eviti®, a technology driven clinical decision support solution. The program integrates with electronic health records system Clinical Pathways and extrapolates information relevant to the patient. This information can include information about treatment options, statistics on recommended courses of action, comparison of treatment options, pricing information, and up-to-date information about clinical tests and trials relevant to the patient.
An additional advantage of Eviti® is information is instantly sent to all physicians involved in treatment, and billing is started immediately with patient’s insurance companies. This reduces the guesswork that has plagued doctors in recent years of understanding what is going on with different doctors the patient is working with. For example, the oncologist would have immediate access to recommendations from the patients pain management specialist; a needed surgery will be submitted for pre-approval to insurance more quickly, thereby receiving a faster approval, and saving vital time to treat patients before cancer can spread.
As stated on Wikipedia, Cancer Treatment Centers of America is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida and has five hospitals throughout the United States dedicated to providing cutting-edge oncology services, as well as diagnostic services, emotional support, nutritional information, and any other professional services needed to improve both the quality of care and the patient’s quality of life through all stages of cancer recovery.
Both inpatient and outpatient services are offered, and some local hospitals nearby offer discounted hotel rates for friends and families of patients. The staff is dedicated to patient satisfaction, which is evidenced by the fact over 92 percent of patients would recommend Cancer Treatment Centers of America to another person. The hospitals are accredited with multiple oncology organizations, radiology associations, and other review boards.
New reforms in the Mexican energy sector have seen it open up an otherwise restricted industry to foreign players. These reforms are part of the measures being undertaken by the Mexican government to revive an otherwise ailing sector. The new developments have opened up the industry to other to competition from other foreign companies.
One group that has sought to take advantage of the reforms is the Dallas-based oil and gas exploration firm known as Talos Energy. This enterprise has partnered together with two other players namely Premier Oil Plc from London and Sierra Oil & Gas to drill the first offshore well in Sureste Basin off the coast of Tabasco state. The well goes into the history books as the first one to be drilled by a different business entity other than the state-run Petroleos Mexicanos.
The well that Talos Energy is drilling is called Zama – 1 and has the potential to generate between 100 million and 500 million barrels of crude oil during its lifespan. Zama well is touted as one of the most attractive wells to be drilled in the Mexican oil and gas sector this year. The structure of the Surestse basin on which Zama is drilled suggests that the project will yield the expected amount of crude oil.
According to the joint venture between Talos and her partners, Talos Energy will operate the well and its stake in the venture is capped at 35%. Sierra and Premier hold the remaining stake at 40 and 25 percent sharing, respectively.
Talos Energy has cut out a niche for itself in the global energy sector. The company boasts of an ever-so-promising future given that it has achieved several feats within the short period it has run its operations. On the list of best workplaces by Workplace Dynamics, Talos Energy is leading. Much of the success at Talos Energy can be attributed to the enterprise culture at the firm. The company strives to ensure that all its employs own part of the business.
Talos Energy is keen on redefining the Mexican oil and gas sector by bringing in an innovative culture to the process of asset acquisition, exploration, and exploitation.
