But as Fast Company reports, these days, Evolution of Smooth (EOS) has taken over the lip care market and is now the second best-selling lip balm in the U.S. The company is worth $250 million, and sells around 1 million products per week.
EOS got its start when the founders convinced a Walgreen’s buyer to feature the lip balms in the store. After the sales were extremely successful, EOS began to appear on the shelves of Walmart, racked and Target as well. EOS is known for its natural and organic ingredients, and the lip balms are available in flavors like vanilla mint, honeysuckle honeydew and pomegranate raspberry. Sanjiv Mehra, one of the founders of EOS, states that he hopes the lip balms offer a bit of luxury for customers in a daily basis.
Not only is EOS lip balm one of the most popular brands in the industry right now, it is predicted that the company will continue to lead growth in the industry. It is believed that the lip care market will be worth about $2 billion by the year 2020, largely because of the organic and natural products that EOS offers.
