In an exciting move to provide excellence in patient care, Cancer Treatment Centers of America have partnered with NantHealth and AllScripts to utilize Eviti®, a technology driven clinical decision support solution. The program integrates with electronic health records system Clinical Pathways and extrapolates information relevant to the patient. This information can include information about treatment options, statistics on recommended courses of action, comparison of treatment options, pricing information, and up-to-date information about clinical tests and trials relevant to the patient.
An additional advantage of Eviti® is information is instantly sent to all physicians involved in treatment, and billing is started immediately with patient’s insurance companies. This reduces the guesswork that has plagued doctors in recent years of understanding what is going on with different doctors the patient is working with. For example, the oncologist would have immediate access to recommendations from the patients pain management specialist; a needed surgery will be submitted for pre-approval to insurance more quickly, thereby receiving a faster approval, and saving vital time to treat patients before cancer can spread.
As stated on Wikipedia, Cancer Treatment Centers of America is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida and has five hospitals throughout the United States dedicated to providing cutting-edge oncology services, as well as diagnostic services, emotional support, nutritional information, and any other professional services needed to improve both the quality of care and the patient’s quality of life through all stages of cancer recovery.
Both inpatient and outpatient services are offered, and some local hospitals nearby offer discounted hotel rates for friends and families of patients. The staff is dedicated to patient satisfaction, which is evidenced by the fact over 92 percent of patients would recommend Cancer Treatment Centers of America to another person. The hospitals are accredited with multiple oncology organizations, radiology associations, and other review boards.
